On February 20, 2024, Officer Zahir Muid was on duty in his patrol vehicle traveling with lights and siren activated in connection to a stolen vehicle incident on I-20 approaching the intersection of State Route 138. A vehicle was turning right in the intersection and Officer Muid moved to the right shoulder to try and avoid a crash. Officer Muid was unable to maintain control of his vehicle on the shoulder and crashed. His Safariland® SX™ SX02 Level II armor worn in a Bothell II carrier protected his torso in this severe crash incident. Officer Muid was flown to the hospital and has since recovered and returned to full duty.
We welcome Officer Zahir Muid as Save #2210 to The Safariland Group Saves Club®.
