Officers Swanson and Latschar were conducting a traffic stop when the occupant opened fire. Officer Latschar was almost killed the last two rounds struck off his armor, though the armor successfully engaged the round. Officer Swanson was not hit off the armor and gave chase to the assailant where he was arrested hiding next to a homes foundation.
