Officer Russel attempted to stop a vehicle that was driving erratically. A chase ensued and the suspect stopped and slumped over the wheel. Upon the officer’s aproach, tha actor shot him with a 45 ACP in the center of his chest and fled. He was stopped a short time later and took his own life. A 223 rilfle was recovered with several loaded magazines from his vehicle. At his home it was discovered he had murdered his wife. He was headed into downtown Washington D.C. when Officer Russel intervened.
