Officer Saunders initiated his Second Chance® vest when, 6 months after his purchase, it took a blow from a prisoner during an arraignment. But it wasn’t until November of 1977, while on a run to a four car accident that the vest saved his life. Saunders” police car hit a truck in a spectacular head-on collision. His patrol unit was completely destroyed, yet he escaped with only a few stitches and a bruised rib. If it weren’t for his vest, doctors concluded the injuries may have been fatal.
We welcome Officer Robert Saunders, SAVE #103, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
