While investigating a silent alarm on the night of November 22, 1977, Fagerholm was met with a blast from a sawed-off .410. The impact, just below his Second Chance® vest, shattered the zipper on his uniform jacket causing shrapnel effect on the body. The vest stopped the metal fragments from doing any further damage than what was already done. Trooper Fagerholm credits his Second Chance® vest with giving him the presence of mind to return fire and aiding him as he crawled 40-yards back to his cruiser to call for help.
We welcome Officer John Fagerholm, SAVE #104, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
