Officer McEwen was shot in the chest, arm and leg by a robber. He was wearing a second hand vest he purchased from a fellow officer and said he had worn it only because it was cold and the vest would keep him warm. He said he knows it saved his life and he will be wearing it 100% of the time from now on.
