Tactical teams were searching for and attempting to negotiate with an armed gunman who had been holed up in an abandoned house for 7 hours after shooting and seriously wounding two other officers. During an exchange of gunfire with the suspect, Sgt. Ozmar ‘s helmet was struck by a 9 mm bullet.
