On the morning of July 7, 1978, Officer Harvey answered a local residence call. The call turned out to be a barricaded gunman firing at anything that moved. Of the 100+ rounds fired by the gunman, one blast, from a 20ga. shotgun hit Officer Harvey. Harvey’s Model Y Second Chance® vest stopped at least three hits to the vital areas of his body.
