Officer Wendling had just interrupted a burglary in progress and the subject took off running. A warning shot stopped the suspect. The subject turned, feigning surrender. As Wendling approached his captive, the subject lowered his hand holding a .25 auto and pumped a shot into the officer’s Second Chance® armor protected chest. Wendling returned fatal fire.
