Officer K.T. Quinlan

West Virginia State Police South Charleston WV Saves Club

When Officer Quinlan graduated from the State Police Academy in 1977, his wife presented him with a Second Chance® vest. On February 18, 1979, Quinlan found that the vest stops a lot more than his silver badge. While serving a felony assault warrant, the accused pulled a knife and struck Quinlan in the left arm and stomach. The arm wound was 3″ deep and required 12 stitches to close. The force of the blow to the stomach, bent the blade on contact with the vest. Quinlan’s doctor advised him that if not for the vest, the knife would have severed his spleen and he would probably have bled to death before help arrived.

We welcome Officer K.T. Quinlan, SAVE #140, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
