The headline in the local newspaper read “Bullet-proof vest saved the life of policeman in head-on crash.” However, the headline does not do justice to the severity of the crash involving Patrolman John Elliot and the driver of a station wagon driving erratically. The station wagon missed the first patrol car, but Elliot did not have the same luck. The crash resulted in Elliot needing to be extracted from his cruiser and rushed to the hospital. He was wearing his Second Chance® vest at the time of the incident and the steering column that could have taken his life, was bent upwards after coming in contact with his vest, resulting in no torso injuries.
We welcome Officer John Elliot, SAVE #145, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®
