Deputy LeBeau was involved in a head on motorcycle crash while responding in emergency mode. He was thrown 22 feet from the point of impact and landed on his left side. Other than a fractured collarbone, cracked tooth and scrapes to his face, he had no other injuries which the emergency room doctor credited to the body armor he was wearing at the time of the accident.
