Officer Al Davis and his partner both wear Second Chance® vests during their midnight-to-eight patrol in Brooklyn. While on such a patrol, they encountered a DWI who forced them to take evasive action. After a brief pursuit the officers were able to force the vehicle to stop. After refusing to comply with Davis” orders to exit the vehicle, Davis decided to take action. When Davis opened the driver’s door, the driver lunged at him with a large screwdriver striking Davis in the upper right chest area. He was forced backward by the impact but received no injury due to his Second Chance® Model “Y” body armor.
