Officer McMullen was the shield man covering for an officer wielding a bang pole to enter the residence through a garage door window. Upon approach shots were fired through the garage door. The shield was struck and Officer McMullen was struck on his left index finger. The officer carrying the bang pole was struck in the right thigh. The shield prevented Officer McMullen from being struck center mass.
