On May 11, 2010 Officer Ty Stoneking was responding to a call of a man throwing items out his 3rd story window. Upon Officer Stoneking’s arrival, the assailant attacked him with a knife stabbing him multiple times. Officer Stoneking shot his assailant to stop the attack. Due to his ABA HP, Officer Stoneking was treated at the hospital for wounds in the neck area and was released. Reports indicate the armor had multiple areas where it was engaged by the edged weapon but provided protection to Officer Stoneking saving him from serious injury or worse
