Incident occurred while respondeding to a domestic dispute where the male subject barricaded himself inside a residence. Within the first few hours of the standoff the suspect fired rounds from inside the residence. After five hours of failed negotiation, entry was made into the residence. The suspect fired two rounds from a 12 gauge shotgun at the entry team members. The first round was a 00 Buck, and missed the team members. The second round he fired was a 1 ounce slug. This round was fired at a range of approximately six feet. The round impacted the Intruder Shield in the viewport. The shield stopped the round, and the team members were able to return fire and stop the suspect’s actions. With the exception of a concussion and some minor bruising to the point man’s shoulder, none of the team members sustained serious injury during the incident.
