Members from Mass State Police the STOP (Special Tactical Operations) Team were involved in an incident in New Bedford, MA in early November 2009, in which, Trooper Baiardi and Trooper McDonald were shot during execution of a warrant. Trooper McDonald received direct fire from approximately ten feet, in which he was struck in the chest. Trooper Baiardi received indirect fire (through the wall) and was also struck in the chest.
