On October 7, 2010 Officer Rusty Roe was serving a warrant on a sex offender when the assailant pulled a .36 cal muzzleloader and shot him in the right shoulder striking his ABA HP level II vest in the shoulder tab (0101.05 armor). The assailant was taken into custody after a lengthy standoff. Officer Roe, a 2 year veteran of the department was treated for minor abrasions and is already back to work.
