Officer O’Donnell and his partner attempted to stop a truck for a traffic violation and the driver refused to stop. A chase ensued and when the vehicle was finally stopped the driver opened fire striking Officer O’Donnell in the stomach – his ABA level II armor stopped the round. His partner was grazed with fire from the assaialnt. Both officers returned fire and the assailant was killed.
