Officer Janelli had been wearing his Second Chance® vest for over six years. One icy night in 1978, it served its purpose. Janelli hit a patch of ice, collided with and snapped a utility pole in two, before coming to rest against a steel sign post. At the time of impact, his body, literally, bounced off the steering wheel two or three times suffering only minor bruises to his face and knees.
