On his way to report for duty at Grand Forks International Airport, Lt. Sieber noticed a driver speeding and with no intention of stopping at the approaching intersection. By the time Sieber hit his brakes it was too late. He was knocked unconscious immediately and did not come to until he was lying in the emergency room. He was treated for several injuries, but none to his chest. According to his doctors his Second Chance® vest absorbed the impact and saved his life.
