The incident occurred on June 5, 2012. Officer Willie Hall of the Albany Georgia Police Department responded to a home invasion robbery-in-progress call at a duplex. Upon arrival at the scene, one of the three suspects fired out of a window, grazing Officer Hall’s forearm. From there, the .38 caliber round continued and struck him in his left breast pocket with a trajectory moving towards the center of his chest. However, Officer Hall’s ABA® BR01 Level II armor stopped the round, resulting in no injury to his torso.
Though all three suspects fled the scene, officers were successful in rescuing all the hostages from both residences. One suspect was apprehended the next day and two others remain wanted.
