Trooper Brian Mehlhoff

North Dakota Highway Patrol Bismarck ND Saves Club

On January 8, 2013, Trooper Brian Mehlhoff of the North Dakota Highway Patrol was on duty on US Highway 2, east of Devil’s Lake, North Dakota. As he was turning onto a median crossover, a full-sized pickup truck traveling in excess of 70 MPH struck the driver’s side of Trooper Mehlhoff’s vehicle. Trooper Mehlhoff sustained serious injuries including a fractured pelvis, broken jaw and fractured L5 vertebrae and was hospitalized for 10 days. Though he was pinned between the collapsed driver’s side and the mobile data computer stand in the center of the driver’s compartment, no serious injuries were sustained in the area covered by his Second Chance® SM01 level IIIA vest.

Trooper Mehlhoff has since been recovering through physical therapy and is returning to full duty this month. We welcome Trooper Brian Mehlhoff, SAVE #1854, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
