In November of 2013, a deputy involved in serving a fugitive warrant was shot multiple times. The deputy was hit with multiple.40 caliber rounds in the center of his chest and off the armor. Although the deputy was wounded, he was able to return fire, fatally wounding the assailant. The deputy was transported to a local hospital where the injury resulting from the hit off the armor was treated.
Doctors credit his Second Chance® level IIIA armor with saving his life and the deputy has returned to full duty.
