Officer Brian Scott

Memphis Police Department Memphis TN Saves Club

On May 27, 2015, Officer Brian Scott and a team from the Memphis Police Narcotics Unit (including SAVE #1808 Officer Charles Wren) were serving a search warrant at an apartment building. Officer Scott knocked and announced the warrant but the suspects refused to open the door. Officer Scott and the other team members then began to breach the front door with entry tools when a suspect fired from inside, hitting Officer Scott.

During the barrage of shots, Officer Wren moved into the field of fire and safely extricated Officer Scott. After a four-hour standoff, the three assailants surrendered and were taken into custody.

Officer Scott’s Protech® Tactical FAV™ MK II armor with BR01 level IIIA ballistics stopped the .357 magnum shot to his upper chest. He was treated and released from the hospital.

For the second time this year, we had a SAVES Club member save another fellow officer. This further attests how courageous our heroes are within The Safariland Group SAVES Club.

We welcome Officer Brian Scott, SAVE #1919, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
