On July 2, 2015, deputy constables from the Bexar County Constables Office – Precinct #1 were serving a civil document of the court at a residence when the resident became violent and attacked both deputies.
During the struggle, the suspect violently tried to remove Deputy Salazar’s duty weapon from its holster. The fight was so intense that the retention strap was ripped free. However, the suspect was unable to gain control of the deputy’s weapon thanks to the Safariland® Model 7360 7TS™ ALS®/SLS Level III duty holster’s internal retention mechanism.
The deputies were able to take the suspect into custody with the assistance of the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. The department credits Deputy Salazar’s Safariland Model 7360 7TS holster with keeping this critical incident from escalating to a lethal force situation.
We welcome Deputy Constable Adam Salazar to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
