On November 24, 2015, the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team was called to a barricaded subject with a possible hostage in a hotel room. With the risk of imminent danger for the hostage, the decision was made to make entry into the room.
As Director Michael A. Miller was breaching the door, the suspect fired through the door with a .380 caliber pistol striking Director Miller in the head. His Protech® Tactical Delta™ LT Helmet (Model 873) stopped the round and saved Director Miller from injury.
