Officer Sandra Wooldridge

Lynchburg TN Saves Club

The only lucky thing about this Friday the 13th incident is the fact that Officer Wooldridge was wearing her Second Chance® vest. As a patrol unit, Wooldridge was dispatched to a local expressway on a disabled vehicle call. It had been raining all night and the storm drains were not doing their job. When she arrived on the scene, approximately 18″ of water was standing in the right lane. After Wooldridge put out flares, a city utilities truck arrived to unclog the drains. On returning to her patrol unit another car pulled in front of a tractor trailer. The trailer driver struck the car, jackknifed, knocking the utilities truck into Wooldridge. She was thrown 100″ through the air, landing in the standing water with the utilities truck rolling onto her. Shock, concussion, internal injuries, a broken arm, fractured pelvis and two broken legs were all sustained from the incident. According to her doctors, they were amazed that the impact had not killed her, and attributed her survival to the wearing of her.

We welcome Officer Sandra Wooldridge, SAVE #199, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
