On March 21, 2008, Officer John Chambliss was working with another officer when they asked three individuals to exit their vehicle so they could conduct a search.
When one of the occupants fled on foot, Officer Chambliss ran after him and was shot once in the shoulder and once in the chest by the fleeing suspect.
The round to the chest was stopped by the officer’s GH Lite Level IIIA armor.
