On November 22, 2008, Deputy Dave Amon was involved in a vehicle pursuit when the suspect rammed his car into a police vehicle and opened fire on the officers.
Deputy Amon was hit in the hand and shoulder but the round was stopped by his GH Lite Level II armor. Officers at the scene returned fire, fatally wounding the assailant.
