On New Year’s Day, 1973, Officer Lindstrom and his partner were dispatched to a domestic dispute. When they arrived they found a wife who had threatened to kill her husband with a butcher’s knife. During the visit, everything seemed normal, until the wife excused herself to the bathroom. When she returned, Lindstrom noticed the subject had a piece of broken mirror in her hand and was heading for her husband. Lindstrom attempted to stop the subject, and she began to struggle with him. Finally, the subject was handcuffed and taken away. At this time, Lindstrom looked down to see a cut through his uniform shirt, three to four inches long. The point of entry would have been on the right side, below the rib cage. Fortunately, Lindstrom was wearing a Second Chance® bulletproof vest. Lindstrom is confident had he not been wearing his armor, his injury would have been fatal.
We welcome Officer Larry Lindstrom, SAVE #2, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
