Apparently Officer Lenihan had asked one too many questions regarding the vehicle registration of his stopped subject. The assailant made one slight move to his right, while sitting in his truck, as a flashed appeared over his left shoulder. Lenihan, standing next to the vehicle, about two feet away, took a spray of .38 birdshot in the right chest area. All Lenihan received was a two-inch bruise to his chest right behind the impact area on his Second Chance® vest.
