Detective Edjuan Burriss

Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Shelby County TN Saves Club

On December 12, 2018 Shelby County Sheriff’s Office narcotics detectives
were serving a warrant at a home in Parkway Village. The residents refused
to open the door and it was breached by the team.

As they entered behind a PROTECH® Tactical Intruder 2035 LED shield, the
subject of the warrant opened fire with a .40 S&W semi-automatic weapon
from approximately 20 feet away. The PROTECH shield stopped the
incoming fire and protected every member of the team, and they were able
to take the assailant into custody. Both the suspect and his wife are facing
multiple felony charges. All 10 narcotics detectives were unharmed due to
the PROTECH Tactical Intruder Shield.
