Officer Michael Tovsen

California Highway Patrol San Bernardino CA Saves Club

On January 15, 2019 Officer Michael Tovsen was on foot outside his patrol vehicle, investigating a collision on the right shoulder of I-10 when a driver lost control of their Toyota Camry and crashed into his patrol vehicle.

Officer Tovsen was struck in his chest by one of the vertical supports (the B-Pillar) of his patrol vehicle’s window area and knocked over the hood and onto the ground.

Thanks to his Safariland® Summit® Model SM02 IIIA body armor, he was not severely injured. He has returned to full duty and credits his armor with his quick recovery.

We welcome Officer Tovsen, SAVE #2053, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
