On June 30, 1979 Officer Siegert and his partner were involved in a 100+ MPH pursuit of a vehicle wanted for a traffic violation. Siegert called for assistance from an adjoining town and as the patrol unit was reaching Siegert’s, they collided. Shortly after impact, which caused Siegert to become pinned in his unit, the patrol car caught on fire. After being pulled out by his partner, Siegert was brought to the local hospital where it was concluded his Second Chance® Model Y Vest saved him from fatal injuries. As stated by Siegert, “Thanks for the vest. I haven’t gone a day without it.”
We welcome Officer Steve Seigert, SAVE #220, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
