If you look at the pictures of Officer Cuesta after his encounter with a drunk driver while trying to dismantle some barricade structures, you’d think Cuesta had gone in for a haircut. In fact, the force of the blow sent Cuesta flying and his head unfortunately took the brunt of the fall, causing a large section of his hair to be pulled right out of his head. Cuesta chest also absorbed the fall, but miraculously he had no major injuries. His attending physician said, without a doubt, Cuesta’s Second Chance® vest saved him from breaking ribs, and causing a punctured lung.
