Once an officer is off-duty, they shouldn’t have to rely on their body armor to take care of them. Unfortunately this was the case for Officer Doug McClusky. On his way home, McClusky picked up a passenger, and began driving northbound on a state highway. It was at that time a vehicle driving southbound attempting to make a left turn pulled in front of McClusky, hitting him in a head-on fashion. McClusky suffered a massive concussion to his frontal lobe area and substantial lower abdominal and facial damage. Medical personnel at the scene stated that if he had not been wearing his Second Chance® vest, McClusky’s injuries would have surely been fatal.
We welcome Officer Doug McClusky, SAVE #230, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
