While responding to a burglary in progress call, Officer Traine and his partner were met by a drunk driver running a red light and broad siding his police unit. Traine was thrown in the steering wheel tearing the column from the dashboard mountings. The unit rolled over at least three times rearranging the 4-inch roll bar and steel plate in the back-seat area, pinning both officers in the car. The attending physician told Traine had he not been wearing his Second Chance® vest, “the next roll call he would have attended would be the great roll call in the sky.”
We welcome Officer William Traine, SAVE #241, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
