Officer White escaped a fatal stabbing while trying to break up a family fight. A 20-year old female struck White in the chest twice with a screwdriver as he tried to stop her from destroying her common-law husband’s furniture . The charges of attempted murder on a police officer were dropped to a misdemeanor charges when the prosecuting attorney saw how little damage was done to the officer because of his Second Chance® vest.
