On May 23, 1981, while operating a motor vehicle, Officer Dan Jansen was struck head-on by a truck travelling in excess of 75 MPH on the wrong side of the road. The force of the impact catapulted Jansen into the steering wheel and then the dashboard. After three hours of hospital emergency trauma procedures and body x-rays, the diagnosis was “hairline fractures to lower ribs and on the right side…” In short, Jansen was spared any serious injury due to the Second Chance® vest he was wearing at the time.
We welcome Officer Dan Jansen, SAVE #256, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
