The car Deputy Yates hit had just come off the gravel on the opposite side of the road and was sliding sideways out of control. Yates” Second Chance® vest covered his chest and bent the steering wheel up and into the dashboard. After a medical examination, confirmation was established that the vest kept Yates from more serious internal injury.
