Officer Cole broadsided another car whose driver was under the influence of alcohol. The intoxicated driver failed to yield right of way as it entered traffic from a driveway. When the two cars met, Cole was thrown into the steering wheel with his head pushing out a portion of the patrol car’s windshield. Dr. Shay and Cmdr. Ziegler confirmed the Second Chance® vest Cole was wearing kept him from greater internal injury.
