Sgt. Cronic had tried all the restraint possible to have a seventeen year-old drop the .22 rifle pointed at him. But, it didn’t work. Even after the first shot rang out and embedded itself in Cronic’s Second Chance® vest, Cronic lowered his own pistol, from his assailant’s chest to his leg and returned fire. Cronic’s bruise will soon disappear but the young man will have a limp for the rest of his life.
