The local F.O.P. purchased body armor for Marty and his brother officers almost four years ago. Marty has worn his faithfully since that time and it paid off on January 29, 1983, the night Marty and his partner stopped a burglar suspect for questioning. A struggle followed whereby the suspect grabbed the officer’s .38 and began firing. Marty, wearing Second Chance® was struck in the lower abdomen with his partner’s hollow-point slug. His partner, not wearing armor, was hit in the shoulder. Marty, was smart, his partner was lucky. Smart doesn’t run out, luck will!
We welcome Officer Steve Marty, SAVE #292, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
