Officer DeHate was traveling northbound on a local thoroughfare when a drunk driver weaved over the centerline smashing into DeHate’s patrol car. DeHate’s spotlight was torn off the side of the car and a jagged prong of metal from the light had pierced the uniform shirt and became stuck in the front panel of DeHate’s Second Chance® Model Y body armor.
