Officer Schatzel was on foot patrol checking out the alleys and adjoining rooftops. “It was a total surprise, just totally surprising”, recalls Schatzel, thinking that he might have accidentally come upon a possible burglary in progress. “I saw the flash and felt something hit me,” said Schatzel. What hit him was a .38, as determined by the disfigured slug removed from the front panel of his Second Chance® vest. Schatzel returned fire but was unable to tell whether or not any of his shots hit the mark.
We welcome Officer John Schatzel, SAVE #302, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
