Illinois State Trooper Rhodes is the first recorded Second Chance® female “save” from gunfire. Rhodes answered a disturbance call from a truck stop along the Illinois highway system. On arrival, she was directed to a man, sitting in a car. As she approached, he grabbed her, and in the ensuing struggle, he placed a 9mm to her back and fired three times. Two slugs stayed in the vest she was wearing while one hit caught the edge seam and traveled behind the panel causing minor back wounds. Rhodes grabbed the 9mm and turned it on her assailant making her own traveling wounds through his body.
We welcome State Trooper Kim Rhodes, SAVE #303, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
