Patrolman Steven Wesolwoski while approaching an intersection, was involved in a sideswipe type accident. Wesolwoski was responding to an armed robbery report, when he was hit broadside by another vehicle. The steering column and wheel were destroyed when Wesolwoski’s Second Chance® protected chest impacted the apparatus. His attending physician stated his injuries would have been much more serious had he not been wearing his vest.
