On August 17th, 1979, Deputy Sheriff Thomas J. Carr was involved in a car accident with speeds exceeding 100 MPH. The accident, which totaled Carr’s patrol car, resulted in a serious injury to his left shoulder. However, due to his Second Chance® Model Y vest, no other serious injury was sustained by Carr.
