Officer Preslik had stopped a car and was writing the driver a ticket when he was struck by a passing motorist and thrown several feet into the air. He sustained a fractured neck but, “due to the bulletproof jacket (Second Chance® armor),” writes Dr. Barnard, “his chest, ribs and sternum were protected from any injury.”
